Weekly Movies #1

So I'm thinking about doing a blog each week about the movies I watched. This week, these have been the movies:

Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix

Of course, I've seen this movie about six times because it is a Harry Potter movie, but this time I really paid more attention to the movie aspect of it. I know everyone is starting to "hate" on HP movies because they are getting too old and not for the kids that they used to be for. Well, the kids that used to read the books, are growing up, and are part of my generation. Trust me, I am that little girl. That little girl who got glasses the same year she started reading the Harry Potter books, so she got the matching glasses (little nerd...).
Overall, as much as they have grown up throughout the movies, their acting style hasn't. It's become their character now. So this movie is amazing as a movie, even though it doesn't tie in with the first three Harry Potter movies.

Chicken Little
I never even knew there was a a children's story about this cute little chicken, but oh my god! This movie made me impulsively laugh for the first time in a month? Honestly, every other movie which was supposed to make me laugh only made me think about how I wasn't laughing. This movie took me out of my little glitch and made me smile. With its adorable characters, and old-ish humor, I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Who cares if it is animated?

The Brothers McMullen
Honestly, the only way someone from Rolling Stone Magazine could say this movie consisted of superb acting is by bribery.
I kept on expecting a twist or something exciting actor-wise, and let me tell you, it disappointed me. Also, the writing was a little inferior to an average college script-writer. It was a great plot, but the words were so much telling and no showing.
Although I want to say this movie was intelligent, I can't write it.

Finding AmandaNow HERE is a movie which kept me thinking "wait... these are characters?" Maybe it was because it didn't have a star-cast (except for Broderick, who played a role less of this range), but I really believed these characters. Brittany Snow (I believe) had some great moments where reality was shown. Both characters of Amanda and her uncle had some great scenes where it was all just so real.
Not only was truth shown, but this movie also made me impulsively laugh which was just what I needed after a day of two jobs! Some laughing and relaxing!
So thank you, Peter Tolan, for doing a great directing job!
